Step 1. Get a camera and a very comfortable pair of shoes, your going to be walking a lot searching for letters. Ladies leave you non supportive flats/heals at home, if they are super cute they are probably not good for your back. Men if your shoes have duct tape on them or are older than 2 yrs, they are now your designated lawn mowing shoes. What every you do not drive and look for letters, if you necessary get a driver while you look. No car accidents or traffic violations please.

Step 2. Have patience, you may be searching for 3 weeks for a decent R, M, N, W, or Q. Look up, look down look all around, dissect the architecture analyzing its forms and general shapes. But watch out for those sneaky skinny roadsigns, fire hydrants & dogie landmines left on the sidewalk by irresponsible dog walkers. One more reason to leave those dress shoes at home while looking for letters.

Step 3. Print your photos.

Step 4. Get a mat board & frame for them. Where do you get a 5 or 8 opening mat board or frame, I have always had to make them. If you do not want to buy mat board cutter and mat boards, frame stock a saw and glass then just go to our website and buy the frames pre-made and blank from PhotoTextCatalog.com.

Step 5. Build it and enjoy it, tell your friends about it. Send us a picture Info(at)PhotoTextCatalog.com

Over the years we have received many question here’s a few FAQ’s:

Q: How long does it take to receive a custom photo letter keepsake?
A: Typically 3-5 weeks for it to arrive at its destination. Depending on when you submit your order online and when the Delivery People put it on your doorstep.

Q: Can I get an assembled sign unframed?
A: Photo name keepsakes that are assembled No, however Un-assembled materials Yes! The assembled signs are not regular sizes we have our production so cost efficient that we are able to frame our work for much less than what you could do it for yourself or at a hobby/frame store. The only way we can offer such a great framed price is because all the art work comes framed.

We can sell you the photos individually and the mat & frame separately, you then assemble it yourself. More detail about this is here: http://www.phototextcatalog.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/41_55

Q: Do you give discounts for big orders?
A: Yes,
* FREE SHIPPING on 2 matching signs to same address
* SAVE 15% on 3 or more custom signs
* BUY 10, GET 1 FREE

Q: Why should we buy this from you, instead of doing it ourselves?
A: Sure you could probably do this but why use your time, when we have already done all the work for you.
Our favorite story is when a lady said to us one day “Oh I love this, how clever. I’ll have my daughter do this for me as my Christmas present. I love the concept thank you.” One year later the daughter called up and said, “Ok I need one of those signs, I can’t find any stupid letters and my mom will not stop bugging me about this.”

Q: How did you come up with this concept?
A: In high school our company founder, Justin Schaefer, was given the basic photography assignment to photograph 3 letters in architecture. He was in need of Christmas Gifts that year, so he came up with the idea of making every ones name out of photographs.

Q: Where do you get all of the photographs?
A: The company founder photographs everyone.

Q: No way! Does one person really photograph all of the images?
A: Yes, the founder has tried to train others however it has proved to be more cost efficient for him to do all of the photography for the photo shoots. He instantly sees the letters in architecture and nature and can complete a project incredibly quickly and accurately. So he gets to do all the traveling.
